WIN #2 OF 2002

A RUNNER-UP KIND OF WEEKEND

Dear Race Fans,

Dear Race Fans,

(Chatsworth, Ga.) – This past Saturday night, David picked up his second win of the 2002 season. On a less than usual "tacky" racetrack, David qualified second out of 15 late models. His qualifying lap put him starting on the outside front row beside John Jones.

For the 35 lap feature, David and Jones led the field down to take the green flag. Going into turn one on the initial lap, David held his line as he drove the car deep in the corner. Coming out of turn two David had Jones cleared and began to pull out in front by about two car-lengths. David and Jones paced the field for the first 15 laps. During the second half of the race David and Jones both got into heavy traffic. As the two began lapping cars, Jones got into a spinning backmarker. Little damage was done to the racecar and Jones would continue behind David.

Following that caution the field returned to green flag racing and laps later David nearly missed a slower car on the racetrack. The slower car was beginning to hold David up so David gently bumped the car to let him know he was there. After clearing this car David then pulled out to a five car-length lead over the field. David then held on to the win for his second visit to victory lane in 2002.

Once again David will be back at North Georgia and as far as Friday night, I am not real sure where he will be racing. Just give them a call at the shop if you are needing to know.
